Based on my first hand experience, I give you the top seven excuses I’ve heard from teachers to quickly wrap up classroom discussions as soon as possible so that everyone happily retires for the day:
1) “You all are so nervous, you’re making me also nervous, see this is SMIT so there is not much stress here”.
2) “These things have already been done in section ‘A’, so just take a xerox of it.”
3) “These things are given in the book, I’ll tell you the names of the authors so there is no point in discussing these things”.
4) “You have already done them in your plus two”.
5) “See now, you all are making too much of noise, so there isn’t much scope of discussion”.
6) “The class strength is very weak”.
7) “The question paper this time (like always) is very straight forward, so no need to panic.”
